Wicked Seattle | Paramount Theatre

Wicked Seattle | Paramount Theatre

For just shy of a month this summer, the Tony Award winning musical Wicked returns to Seattle. It is slated to play the Paramount Theatre from July 8 to August 2, 2015.

They say so much happened before Dorothy dropped in. Indeed there was an entirely different story, one told from the Wicked Witch’s perspective. Before she became Dorothy’s nemesis in the fabled tale of The Wizard of Oz, the Wicked Witch was known in Oz as Elphaba, an emerald-skinned girl whose feisty and outspoken nature caused her to be a social pariah. This and her constant rivalry with the popular and beautiful Galinda, who emerged as the Good Witch of the North, helped shape both their lives and the ultimate paths they would take.

Show times for Wicked in Seattle are at 7:30 PM from Tuesdays to Thursdays, 8 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and 6:30 PM on Sundays. Matinee performances are at 2 PM on Saturdays and 1 PM on Sundays. The performance running time is 2 hours and 45 minutes with 1 intermission.

“But there’s no yellow brick road and no Kansas in this Broadway blockbuster set in the Land of Oz. For the uninitiated, Wicked is far from a replica of the classic movie. It’s the story behind the unlikely friendship between the “good” witch, Glinda, and the “wicked” (really just misunderstood) witch, Elphaba.” – Lynn Schnaiberg of Seattle’s Child

“The popular Broadway production of the novel “Wicked” by Gregory Maguire, does not fail to entertain. The show is not the most accurate depiction of the novel, but rather creates a more colorful song-inspiring show.” – Healani Brennan of The Pioneer
