Newsies Costa Mesa | Segerstrom Center for the Arts
|
New York’s newsboys are hitting the road to Costa Mesa! Newsies, the spirited and acclaimed Disney musical from the Great White Way, joins Broadway Across America Orange County’s exciting 2015-2016 season. Opening on May 17, 2016, Newsies will fill the Segerstrom Center for the Arts with its explosion of dance and song until May 29, 2016.
Inspired by the Newsboy Strike in 1899 in New York, Newsies is the rousing tale of a small group of teenaged newspaper delivery boys who only dreamed of a better life. Fighting for their rights, the newsboys made the headlines when they stood their ground against the publishing titans of New York City. Filled with heart-pounding and breathtaking numbers, Newsies is one Broadway show that the Costa Mesa audience would not want to miss. Newsies is the hit and exciting production that took home the Best Choreography and Best Score trophies in the 2012 Tony Awards.
Join the newsboys’ righteous fight as Newsies opens at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts on May 17 (Tuesday) at 7:30 PM. The regular performances are at 7:30 PM from Tuesday to Friday, at 2 PM and 7:30 PM every Saturday, and at 1 PM and 6:30 PM every Sunday. With a 15-minute intermission, each Newsies show runs for 2 hours and 20 minutes.
