Chicago Dallas | Winspear Opera House

For two weeks this summer, Dallas will once again get a taste of old show business glamour and controversy via the long running, Tony and Olivier Award winning and Broadway and West End legend ‘Chicago’. It is slated to play the Winspear Opera House of the AT&T Performing Arts Center from August 14 to 26, 2012.

There’s drama, a dash of comedy, history, thrills, glitzy performances and even a bit of suspense. This is ‘Chicago’, and it is the total live entertainment package that continues to “glitter hypnotically” (The New York Times) even after years of playing successfully in Broadway and across the pond in West End. Set in the Prohibition Era, the musical follows two convicted murderesses and vaudevillians, Velma Kelly and Roxie Hart. Both see their time in the slammer as a chance to steal the limelight once again, using their looks, wits, connections and the prevalence of corruption at the time to their advantage.
