Dolly Parton Prepares Autobiographical Musical for Broadway

Dolly Parton the legendary country singer, actress, songwriter and lyricist for the Broadway version of 9 to 5 is planning a new venture for the stage. Parton is preparing an autobiography musical for Broadway. No timetable has currently been discussed on the project. It is too far out to dwell on potential casting speculations however Parton does not think she will star in the musical.

Dolly Parton has lived a life fit for a musical. She has won numerous awards and been nominated for countless more for her work in country music. She has had 26 songs top the Billboard Country charts and 42 top 10 Country Albums. Parton has also won eight Grammy Awards, three American Music Awards, ten Country Music Association Awards as well as seven Academy of Music Awards.

Dolly Parton’s acting career has included both film and television roles. In the 80’s she was nominated for a Golden Globe Awards for her work in the movie “9 to 5” and “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.” Other movies that she has starred in include “Steel Magnolias” and “Straight Talk” to name a few of the more popular ones. She is set to return to the silver screen, starring in a new movie in 2012 called “Joyful Noise.” Dolly Parton thinks the new movie might do well being adapted as a musical too. Broadway better watch out because Parton plans to be there soon.
