Gypsy Minneapolis | Pantages Theatre

Gypsy Minneapolis | Pantages Theatre

Strippers and stage mothers flock to Minneapolis! Gypsy, the acclaimed production presented by Hennepin Theatre Trust and Theater Latté Da, is part of Bank of America Broadway on Hennepin’s blockbuster 2015-2016 season. Opening on February 17, 2016, Gypsy will take center stage at the Pantages Theatre for four weeks until March 13, 2016.

Based on the memoir of Gypsy Rose Lee, a celebrated burlesque performer, Gypsy gives life to the story of Momma Rose, Louise, and Baby June as they travel across America for their family vaudeville act. An archetypal stage mother, Rose pursues vicarious success and pushes her daughters to be stars. But the times are changing, burlesque is on the rise, and the audiences have more expectations. When Baby June elopes, Rose focuses her attention on shy Louise. A legendary American musical, Gypsy features book by Arthur Laurents and score by Jule Styne and Stephen Sondheim that includes legendary songs like “Everything’s Coming Up Roses,” “Let Me Entertain You,” “Together (Wherever We Go),” “Rose’s Turn,” “Some People,” and “Small World.”

Don’t miss the opening night of Gypsy at the Pantages Theatre on February 17 (Wednesday) at 7:30 PM. The regular performances are at 7:30 PM on Thursdays, at 8 PM on Fridays, at 2 PM and 8 PM on Saturdays, and at 1 PM on Sundays. The additional evening performances are scheduled at 6:30 PM on February 28 (Sunday) and at 7:30 PM on March 1 and 2 (Tuesday and Wednesday). Gypsy runs for 170 minutes including intermission.
