Hugh Jackman Rings Up Broadhurst Record $1.2 Million in Sales

During the week of October 24, 2011 Hugh Jackman’s one man Broadway Show “Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway “ earned more than $1.2 million in box office sales. The earnings set a record for the Broadhurst Theatre.

He set the record doing eight preview shows. The show is not scheduled to open until November 10, 2011. However, the preview week has already made the show a hit. It beat out “How to Succeed in Business” and “Follies.” The ticket sales should continue when the show opens in earnest.

Jackman is a Drama Desk Award winner and a Tony award Winner. He has also won an Emmy Award. Hugh has also won several other awards. In 2008 People Magazine named him the sexiest man alive making his wife Deborah-Lee Furness proud. In the movies he has starred in the X-Men series as Wolverine. “The Boy from Oz” is the musical which earned Hugh his big theatre awards. He also starred on Broadway in “A Steady Rain.” Jackman’s film career has lasted 17 years and is still going strong.

Hugh’s latest production will no doubt be a success at the ticket booth. Time will tell if the production produces any other Broadway Awards.
