Julian Elia Takes Over Lead in Billy Elliot November 8

Julian Elia is going to play Billy again in the musical Billy Elliot. This time he is not going to play the role in Toronto. Instead Julian will make his Broadway debut starting November 8, 2011. Elia will be replacing Giuseppe Bausilio in the musical’s leading role.

Julian will be the 16th actor to portray Billy on Broadway. It is something the 13 year old actor probably dreamed about while performing the same role in Toronto. The dream comes true for Julian Elia on November 8, 2011 at Broadway’s Imperial Theatre. Playing the lead in a musical where you get to show off your singing and dancing talents is fantastic. Doing all of that in a performance which has won ten Tony awards in the past and features music by Elton John is incredible.

It is a well deserve break for Elia. Julian made the best of his opportunity when he played the role in Toronto. He has been learning, practicing, and competing in dance since he was a young boy. His hard work and dedication is paying off. Playing Billy will definitely be a highlight on Julian’s young resume. Billy Elliot is providing Julian an incredible acting opportunity. He should have an exciting and rewarding career to look forward too. However, for now he will be delighting audiences in New York.
