Lea Michele Craves the Broadway Stage in Latest Harper’s Bazaar

Harper’s Bazaar pinned down busy girl Lea Michele for a little Q&A for their September issue (on newsstands Tuesday, August 16). After dolling her up in top-notch couture for the cover shoot, they looked to get the low down on the newness of celebrity and what direction her career aims to take after Rachel Berry has graduated from McKinley High.

So let’s get to the meat of this conversation. When will we see her back on Broadway? She said she has no plans to tap the brakes following her groundbreaking run on ‘Glee.’ Michele said, “I don’t stop. It’s my nature. People have to tell me to slow down. I plan on playing every role on Broadway. I want to do ‘Evita’. I want to do ‘Sweeney Todd’ with Chris Colfer. We want to do ‘Wicked.’ I’ll be Elphaba and he wants to play ‘Guy-linda.’ I want to do movies, make music. ‘Glee’ is only the beginning.”

She is currently starring in the upcoming film ‘New Year’s Eve’ that is the ensemble comedy with a December 9 release. The cast hemorrhages with star power from Ashton Kutcher and Sofia Vergara to Zac Efron and Sarah Jessica Parker. She has also lent her voice to the animated film ‘Dorothy of Oz’ due in 2012. Michele will be playing none other than Dorothy.

Regardless what adventures her career takes in her post-‘Glee’ world, Lea Michele might want to get comfy in this new skin of fame. I think she’ll be wearing it for quite some time.
