Lion King Philadelphia | Academy of Music

A pride of lions roars all the way to Philadelphia! Lion King, the smash hit and critically-acclaimed stage production based on Disney’s phenomenal animated feature, is an Exclusive Extra of The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts & The Shubert Organization’s 2015/16 Broadway Philadelphia series. Opening on May 20, 2015, Lion King will take the center stage at the Academy of Music until June 14, 2015.

Under the direction of Julie Taymor, the story of Simba comes alive on stage with pulsating rhythm, breathtaking sets, and unforgettable tunes like “Circle of Life” and “Can You Feel The Love Tonight.” Lion King is the fourth longest-running show on the Great White Way and won six Tony Awards in 1998, including Best Musical.

Behold the Serengeti come alive on the Academy of Music stage as Lion King plays in Philadelphia on Tuesday to Thursday evenings at 7:30 PM, on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 PM and on Sunday evenings at 6:30 PM, with matinee presentations on Saturdays at 2:00 PM and on Sundays at 1:00 PM.
