Miss Saigon Detroit | Fisher Theatre

Revisit Vietnam this fall. Miss Saigon, the multi-awarded musical from Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg , has a two-week engagement at the Fisher Theatre as part of the 2013/14 Broadway in Detroit season. Opening on September 24, 2013, Miss Saigon runs in Detroit until October 6, 2013.

Miss Saigon is inspired by Giacomo Puccini’s well loved Madame Butterfly opera. Set in the 1970s during the tumultuous Vietnam War, Miss Saigon tells the tragic tale of a young Vietnamese bar girl (Kim) abandoned by her American GI lover (Chris). Hoping for Chris’ return, Kim has raised a son that Chris did not know he had. Meanwhile, back in America, Chris has moved on and married. When Chris finds out that Kim is alive and has a son, he and his wife make a trip to Asia to find them.

Miss Saigon plays at the Fisher Theatre nightly on Tuesdays through Sundays. Special afternoon shows are also lined up for Saturdays and Sundays.
