Once Philadelphia | Academy of Music

Once, the 2012 Tony Awards’ big winner, is set to open the exciting 2015/16 Broadway Season of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. Opening on January 15, 2016, Once has a two-week engagement at the Academy of Music until January 17, 2016.

Inspired by the 2007 Academy Award-winning indie film with the same name, Once is the soulful and touching Broadway musical that tells the poignant tale of two strangers drawn together by music. Over the course of one week, their musical collaboration and newfound friendship evolves to a relationship so deep yet complex. Once, the Best Musical winner in the 2012 Tony Awards and the Best Musical Theater Album winner in the 2013 Grammy Awards, enchants with musical score that feature songs written by Markéta Irglová and Glen Hansard.

Don’t miss the opening night of Once at the Academy of Music (Tuesday) at 8 PM. The regular performances from Tuesday to Thursday are at 7:30 PM, every Friday at 8 PM, every Saturday at 2 PM and 8 PM, and every Sunday at 1 PM and 6:30 PM.
