The Denver Center Theatre Company Season 2012-2013 proudly presents Jon Robin Baitz’ “Other Desert Cities” for a month-long run at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts’ The Space Theatre from March 28, 2013 to April 28, 2013.
“Other Desert Cities,” a finalist of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for 2012, is the story of the Wyeth family – a family with conflicting political views and one long-held tragic family secret. When Brooke, Lyman and Polly Wyeth’s daughter, comes home to Palm Springs for Christmas, she announces that she has finished writing a memoir that dredges up a tragic and pivotal event in their family – her brother Henry’s involvement in a radical subculture and his subsequent suicide, which happens to be a wound that her parents don’t want reopened and discussed. As lies and secrets unravel, each character becomes more complex.
“Other Desert Cities” plays nightly at The Space Theatre at 6:30 PM from Tuesday to Thursday and at 7:30 PM on Friday and Saturday, with 1:30 PM performances every Saturday and Sunday.
