‘Rent’ Tours U.K. With Rory Taylor, Natasha Hamilton

As the 20th anniversary of the concert staging of Jonathan Larson’s Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning musical Rent approaches, it has been announced that there will be a 16-engagement U.K. tour of the show. The production is set to star Natasha Hamilton as Maureen and Rory Taylor as Roger.

Taylor shared in a statement, “Taylor, who reprises the role of Roger that he previously played, commented, “I had the most amazing time on tour with Rent in April and I am so excited that the public want more! I can’t wait to get back on the road and play the role of Roger again.”

The cast will also include Paul Ayres as Mark, Rachel John as Mimi, Hannah Levene as Joanne, Leon Lopez as Collins, Neil Moors as Benny, and Ian Stroughair as Angel.

The tour began performances at Blackpool’s Opera House November 11, 2013 and will continue to play at Nottingham Concert Hall, Hull’s New Theatre, London’s Wimbledon Theatre, Oxford’s New Theatre, Edinburgh’s King’s Theatre, Glasgow’s SECC, Sheffield’s Lyceum, Dublin’s Bord Gais Energy Theatre, Torquay’s Princess Theatre, Bristol’s Hippodrome, Bradford’s St. George’s Hall, Newcastle’s Mill Volvo Tyne Theatre, Manchester’s Palace Theatre and Liverpool’s Echo Arena.

Rent tells the story of finding love, discovering your voice, and living in the moment. The production follows a year in the life of a group of friends who are struggling to make it in the big city under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. This pop culture phenomenon touches audiences emotionally and rocks them musically with song such as “Seasons of Love,” “Out Tonight,” “Without You,” and “Will I.”
