Boston spring comes alive with beautiful music! The Sound of Music, the breathtaking new production of a widely loved theater classic that is currently on its widely anticipated national tour, joins Lexus Broadway in Boston’s blockbuster 2015-2016 season. Opening on March 29, 2016, The Sound of Music takes over the Boston Opera House until April 10, 2016.

Inspired by Maria Trapp’s memoir “The Trapp Family Singers,” The Sound of Music follows the unforgettable story of Maria, a young woman who is training to be a nun when she is assigned to be the new governess of Captain Trapp’s stubborn children. With her patience, music, and love, she wins over not only the children but also their father as well. With direction by Jack O’Brien and book by Russel Crouse and Howard Lindsay, The Sound of Music features the beloved score by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein that includes legendary songs like “The Sound of Music,” “My Favorite Things,” “Edelweiss,” and “Climb Ev’ry Mountain.”

Don’t miss the romantic and spirited The Sound of Music as it plays the Boston Opera House from Tuesdays through Thursdays at 7:30 PM, on Fridays at 8:00 PM, on Saturdays at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM, and on Sundays at 1:00 PM and 6:30 PM. The performance time of The Sound of Music plays is 174 minutes.
