The hills of Denver will come alive with wonderful music this summer. The Sound of Music, the brilliant new production of a beloved theater classic, is out on its new North American Tour and is heading to Denver. Opening on June 21, 2016, The Sound of Music has a limited eight-performance engagement at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts’ Buell Theatre until June 26, 2016.
In a monastery at the heart of the Austrian Alps, a free-spirited soul named Maria is on her way to becoming a nun. But when she is assigned to become a governess to the mischievous children of widower Captain Georg Von Trapp, her life is destined to change. Set at the advent of the Second World War, The Sound of Music is based on Maria Von Trapp’s memoir, which inspired the beloved Oscar winning film starring Julie Andrews. With a legendary score from Rodgers and Hammerstein, this production of The Sound of Music is helmed by three-time Tony winning director Jack O’Brien.
Relive the beauty of The Sound of Music as it takes center stage at the Buell Theatre on June 21 to 24 (Tuesday to Friday) at 7:30 PM and on June 25 to 26 (Saturday to Sunday) at 2 PM and 7:30. The performances of The Sound of Music are 174 minutes long.
