The Sound of Music, the exciting new production of the celebrated musical, launches its widely anticipated National Tour from Los Angeles this fall. Opening on September 20, 2015, The Sound of Music plays the Ahmanson Theatre until November 1, 2015.
The Sound of Music, the beloved musical that inspired the sensational and Oscar winning film starring Julie Andrews, is the unforgettable story of Maria. She is a novice in a monastery when she was assigned as governess to the unruly Von Trapp children. Set in Austria during before the outbreak of World War II, The Sound of Music follows Maria as she finds her place in the Von Trapp family and the beautiful music they make together. The Sound of Music features the legendary score from Rodgers and Hammerstein that include some of the greatest hits of the musical theater like “The Sound of Music,” “Edelweiss,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “My Favorite Things,” and “Climb Ev’ry Mountain.”
Don’t miss The Sound of Music as it opens its National Tour from the Ahmanson Theatre on September 20 (Sunday) at 1 PM and 6:30 PM. The regular performances from Tuesdays through Fridays are at 8 PM, every Saturday at 2 PM and 8 PM, and every Sunday at 1 PM and 6:30 PM. The run time of The Sound of Music is 174 minutes.
