It earned several nods and bagged two Olivier Awards in the same year. Three years later, it premiered in the Great White Way and won multiple Tony, Drama Desk and Drama League Awards including Best Play honors from the aforementioned award giving bodies.

In 2012, a Steven Spielberg film adaptation of the play will hit theaters. The cast will include David Thewlis, Jeremy Irvine, Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberbatch, Emily Watson and Peter Mullan.
