Wicked Cleveland | PlayhouseSquare

Wicked Witch of the West will spend the holidays in Cleveland! Wicked, one of the biggest blockbuster musicals on Broadway, returns to Cleveland by popular demand for the stellar 2013-2014 Keybank Broadway series at the PlayhouseSquare. Opening on December 4, 2013, Wicked will be at the State Theatre until January 5, 2014.

Years before Dorothy Gale set foot in the magical Oz, two young women (Elphaba and Glinda) strike an unlikely friendship while in college. Elphaba is green-skinned, smart, and passionate while Glinda is ambitious, beautiful, and popular. In Wicked, discover how the two friends ended up as enemies taking the roles of the widely-despised Wicked Witch of the West and as the enchanting Glinda the Good.

Don’t miss the spellbinding Wicked performances at the State Theatre every weeknight (Tuesday to Friday) at 7:30 PM, every Saturday night at 7:30 PM, and every Sunday night at 6:30 PM. The special matinees are scheduled at 1:30 PM every Saturday and at 1 PM every Sunday.

Broadway Tour
Average rating:
 0 reviews

“It’s a completely professional, first-rate tour, a reasonable facsimile of the Broadway product, especially the mechanical magic in the cogs and pulleys of Eugene Lee’s behind-the-Wizard’s-curtain set. And under the witty direction of Joe Mantello, the cast, 35-strong, performs admirably, considering the contortions of Schwartz’s score and Wayne Cilento’s choreography.” Tony Brown of Cleveland.com

“Few shows are able to combine comedy and cleverness with such wonderful music. Along with the aforementioned “Defying Gravity,” standout songs include “The Wizard and I,” “I’m Not That Girl,” “Popular” and “As Long as You’re Mine.” Mark Meszoros of The News-Herald
