Wicked Columbus | Ohio Theatre

Wicked Columbus | Ohio Theatre

The most powerful witches in Oz are the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good. But in the land of Oz, nothing is just black and white — or green. This is the untold story of the witches of oz and of a friendship that defied all odds and it’s coming to Columbus at the breathtaking Ohio Theatre to kick off their summer 2016 season from August 17 to September 4, 2016.

From their beginnings as young rivals at Chiz university where they at first loathe each other, Glinda & Elphaba’s relationship soon blossoms into a friendship that blurs the lines between good and bad. With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, based on the books by Gregory Maguire set in the land of Oz created by Frank L. Baum, Wicked is a blockbuster Broadway musical that redefines musical theatre.

The touring cast of Wicked will perform at the Ohio Theatre in Columbus from August 17 to September 4, 2016. Tickets and show dates will be announced shortly. Don’t miss this chance to bring the whole family to watch this unique Broadway spectacle. The performance running time is 2 hours and 45 minutes with 1 intermission.

Loved It!

I missed it last time it came through Columbus so I am glad I was able to see it this go around. What can I say? It was great night at the theatre. The story is clever, the special effects are impressive, and the acting was superb. Wicked definitely lives up to the considerable hype.

Cleveland Press Reviews
“The touring cast of “Wicked” undoubtedly makes its original Broadway version predecessors extremely proud, and continues to deliver the kind of entertainment that not only makes for an astoundingly enjoyable evening at the theater, but leaves you forever thinking, and feeling a bit differently than before. And that, my friends, is how musical theater history is made.”

“Wicked is a magical musical full of spectacle and effects. Much of the lighting effects are nothing short of artistic and beautiful, while the visual effects that create the magic in the show are so well executed that it’s near impossible to figure out how a couple of the tricks are done, if you aren’t already aware of them. The choreography of the musical is modern and other-worldly, contributing to the magic of Oz, and the costumes follow suit.”
