The Witches of Oz are flying to Memphis and all the Ozians are coming along with them. No need to summon your own tornado because the Opheum Theatre is transforming into the whimsical land of Oz this spring!
In the twisted, magical land of Oz nothing is ever simply black or white — or green! The lines between what is good and wicked are blurred when a powerful Wizard meets his match in a young woman named Elphaba and the unlikely friendship she forges with bubbly, popular, and blond Galinda – who eventually comes to be known as Glinda the Good. Wicked: The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz takes the classic world originally created by Frank L. Baum and turns it upside down to present an Oz completely different from the one we explored with Dorothy Gale from Kansas.
Memphis’s Orpheum Theatre will host the touring production of Wicked: The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz from March 7 through 25, 2018. Don’t miss this change to see the multi-award winning production before the Winged Monkeys pack everything up.
