Wicked Vancouver | Queen Elizabeth Theatre

Wicked Vancouver | Queen Elizabeth Theatre

The witches of Oz are on their way to Vancouver! Wicked, the top-grossing and multi-award winning Broadway musical, is set to take the spotlight at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre for its widely-anticipated month-long engagement in Vancouver from May 28 to June 29, 2014.

Years prior to Dorothy’s touch down in Munchkinland, two young women meet in Oz and became good friends. One of them is the green-skinned and tack smart Elphaba and the other is the ambitious and pretty Glinda. Wicked tells their story and presents how these women became the rival Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good. Wicked is one of the top Broadway blockbusters with at least 50 major awards and countless record-breaking performances to its name.

Experience Broadway magic as Wicked opens at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on May 28 (Wednesday) at 8 PM. Running for 2 hours and 45 minutes, the regular Wicked performances from Tuesday through Friday are at 8 PM, every Saturday at 2 PM and 8 PM, and every Sunday at 1 PM and 7:30 PM. A special matinee show is scheduled at 2 PM on May 29 (Thursday).

“Wicked has been declared “A Cultural Phenomenon” by Variety and “The Best Musical of the Decade” by Entertainment Weekly. Wicked currently has nine productions around the world: New York, London, Japan, Australia, Manila, Seoul, Mexico City, Dublin, and two concurrent North American national tours. ” – Ariane Colenbrander of Vancouverscape

“I went into the show with one eyebrow slightly raised. I left gushing about the talent of the two leads, and feeling uplifted by the positive – albeit reductionist – political message of the tale. Wicked’s cast, sets and talent make it an absorbing evening.” – Zoe Grams of Vancouver Presents
