Evita Charlotte | Belk Theater

Former Argentine First Lady Evita is on the road to Charlotte for the Duke Energy Broadway Lights Series’ exciting 2013-14 season! Evita, the sensational revival of the multi-awarded Broadway musical from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice about one of the world’s most unforgettable and most powerful women, will be at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center’s Belk Theater on March 4 to 9, 2014.

Born to a poor family from the Argentine slums, Eva Duarte made use of her charisma, brains, and exquisite beauty to rise in the social and economic ladder. Her marriage to Juan Peron, soon-to-be President of Argentina, eventually made her the country’s adored and youthful First Lady at 27 years old. A political celebrity in her own right, her thirst for acceptance and power is checked by the frailty of the human body.

Evita will be at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center on March 4 to 6 at 7:30 PM, on March 7 at 8 PM, on March 8 at 2 PM and 8 PM, and on March 9 at 1:30 PM and 7 PM.
