Hedwig and the Angry Inch New York | Belasco Theatre

Neil Patrick Harris makes a triumphant return to the Broadway, taking to the stage in Hedwig and the Angry Inch opening at the Belasco Theatre in April 2014.

Playing the transgendered lead singer of a punk band, Harris plays the high-heeled Hedwig, the “Internationally ignored song stylist” from East Berlin. Eyeliner, glitter, and a lot of over the top theatrics, inspired by the androgynous 70’s glam rock of David Bowie, set the look of the award-winning musical originally adapted and directed Off-Broadway by John Cameron Mitchell who also starred in the 2001 film version of the play.

Previews for Hedwig and the Angry Inch begin playing at the Belasco Theatre on March 29, 2014. Opening night will be on April 22, 2014. Don’t miss this heart wrenching tale of Hedwig as he escapes East Berlin and tries to find his/her other half as he leads his band, The Angry Inch.
