‘Traces’, the hit modern and urban circus spectacle comes to Charlotte, NC in spring 2013, playing the Knight Theater at the Levine Center for the Arts from May 7 to 19, 2013.
Coming off the heels of the successes of Cirque du Soleil and Cirque Dreams is a brand new but totally different circus that everyone can surely relate to. This is ‘Traces’, an infectious urban stunt production that boasts of more humanized acts and poetic performers than grand spectacles of masks, vivid costumes, intricate group choreographies and huge ensembles of acrobats. The show features only seven superbly talented performers conveying various emotions and thoughts through delicate, awesome and death defying stunts, but don’t let the number fool you, for ‘Traces’ is all about intimacy and individuality, individual stories and experiences that resonate among audiences through the performers’ rhythmic and graceful flips, lifts, tumbles and other physical feats. What audiences get is an intimate yet synergistic production that effortlessly commands their attention and admiration and doesn’t bore them with words or overwhelm them with grand displays of theatricality.
Show times for ‘Traces’ in Charlotte are at 7:30 PM from Tuesdays to Thursdays, 8 PM on Fridays and Saturdays and at 7 PM on Sunday, May 12. Matinee performances are at 2 PM on Saturdays and 1:30 PM on Sundays. The performance running time is 90 minutes with no intermission.
