An outstanding playlist of great music combined with a captivating story of love, perseverance and true talent, Beautiful – The Carole King Musical is more than just a theatrical biography of one of the most inspiring artists in pop culture, it is an emotional and triumphant display of the life and rise to stardom of Carole Klein.

The musical portrays King’s journey to success, as she breaks into the record business at the early age of 17, with her first hit song – Will You Love Me Tomorrow. But her true recognition comes when she marries Gerry Goffin, with whom she will write the soundtrack of a new generation and soul-searching America. They form a lasting friendship with another composing couple, Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, as King becomes one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history.

The score for Beautiful – The Carole King Musical features King and Goffin’s classic hits such as: You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman, You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling, Take Good Care of my Baby, So Far Away, It Might As Well Rain Until September, Up on the Roof and Locomotion. Academy Award nominated screenwriter Douglas McGrath develops the book while Marc Bruni handles the musical’s direction.

Beautiful – The Carole King Musical is coming to Washington, D.C. this season, starting on October 6 and running until October 25, 2015 at the Kennedy Center.
