Before it finally heads to Broadway to celebrate its 30th anniversary, Flashdance The Musical is making one last stop in Chicago this summer. Flashdance The Musical, the latest adaptation of the hit and iconic 1983 film that starred Jennifer Beals, opens at the Cadillac Palace Theatre on July 30, 2013 and runs until August 11. 2013.
This new production of Flashdance The Musical, which made its world premiere on the West End, is Alex Owens’ inspiring story. As a female steel mill welder who moonlights as a dancer, Alex holds on to her dreams of qualifying for a spot in a prestigious ballet academy. Known for its electrifying dance choreography, Flashdance The Musical also features 16 new songs in addition to the unforgettable tracks in its score like “What A Felling,” “I Love Rock and Roll,” “Maniac,” and “Gloria.”
The evening show times of Flashdance The Musical at the Cadillac Palace Theatre are at 7:30 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays and at 8 PM on Saturdays. There also 2 PM matinee performances every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.
