Fort Lauderdale, mark March 5 to 17, 2013 in your calendar as Flashdance will hit town to electrify the Broward Center for the Performing Arts stage.

Based on the phenomenal Flashdance film from Paramount, this stage adaptation keeps true to the original story and soundtrack but makes it larger than life with its explosive choreography and additional new songs. Behold Alex Owens, a passionate dreamer who works hard as a welder in a Pittsburg steel mill and a bar dancer while pursuing her life dream of making the cut to Shipley, a prestigious ballet academy. Be with her as she falls in love and as she struggles to realize her heart’s desires.

Be electrified with the Flashdance shows at 8 PM from Tuesdays to Saturdays during its two-week run at the Center and at 7:30 PM on March 10, 2013. Special matinee performances are also scheduled at 2 PM on March 9, 10, 13, and 17, 2013. The performance running time is 2 hours 35 minutes with 1 intermission.
