The Orpheum Theatre in Memphis is proud to be one of the first to host Flashdance The Musical this September. The electrifying new musical based on the hit film features familiar songs and scenes just in time to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the movie.
Flashdance goes on an extended US National Tour before it makes its much-anticipated Broadway debut. In the stage adaptation of the 80’s film, Alex Owens is a steel mill welder by day and a pole dancer by night. She begins a romance
with her boss and at the same time strives to reach her dream to become a professional performer with the Shipley Dance Academy.
Put on your leg warmers and dancing shoes because Flashdance the musical will get you up on your feet with a libretto of hit songs from the movie as well as all-original pieces inspired by the genre. See Flashdance live at the Orpheym Theatre when the National Tour makes a stop in Memphis from September 17 thorugh 22, 2013. Performances are scheduled at 7:30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday; at 8:00pm on Friday and Saturday; and at 7:00pm on Sunday. Afternoon matinees begin at 2:00pm on Saturday, and at 1:30pm on Sunday.
