Before it finally heads to New York to celebrate its 30th anniversary on the Great White Way, FLASHDANCE THE MUSICAL will make a pit stop in Sacramento for the exciting 2013-14 Broadway Sacramento Season. FLASHDANCE THE MUSICAL, the electrifying Broadway musical adapted from the phenomenally hit 1983 Jennifer Beals movie, has a weeklong run at the Community Center Theater on February 4 to 9, 2014.
Alex Owens is a beautiful 18-year old dynamo fueled by her dreams – working hard as a female steel factory mill welder by day and as an exotic dancer by night while aspiring to be accepted by the Shipley Dance Academy. With breathtaking dance at its very core, FLASHDANCE THE MUSICAL also brings on stage the memorable fashion and music from the 1980s.
FLASHDANCE THE MUSICAL will be at the Community Center on evenings of February 4 to 8 (Tuesday to Saturday) at 8 PM, with 2 PM matinee shows on February 6, 8, and 9 (Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday). The 8 PM show on February 7 will be an Open Caption Performance while the 2 PM show on February 9 will be a Sign Interpreted Performance.
