Spring will sizzle up in Seattle when ‘Flashdance’, the most anticipated musical adaptation of the season goes on its first national tour, marking a week-long stop at the Paramount Theatre from April 16 to 21, 2013. The inaugural tour will coincide with the show’s Broadway debut, also due in 2013.
Best remembered for its inspiring story, a talented, driven and hardworking heroine in the character of Alex Owens, her powerful and iconic dance moves and stunts and of course, the unforgettable pop anthems springing from the cult film such as ‘Gloria’, ‘Manhunt’, ‘Maniac’, ‘I Love Rock& Roll’ and ‘Flashdance – What a Feeling’, this musical will revive all that with twice the energy, soul and motivation, thanks to the adaptation penned for the stage by Tom Hedley and Robert Cary and 16 more songs to add to the high-octane repertoire as composed and written by Robbie Roth and Robert Cary. Sergio Trujillo of ‘Memphis’ and ‘Jersey Boys’ fame will direct and choreograph the production.
Show times for ‘Flashdance’ in Seattle are at 7:30 PM from April 16 to 18, 8 PM on April 19 and 20 and 6:30 PM on April 21. Matinee performances are at 2 PM on the 20th and 1 PM on the 21st. The performance running time is 2 hours 35 minutes with 1 intermission.
