In celebration of this musical’s 25th anniversary, acclaimed producer Cameron Mackintosh brings back a revitalized version of the Boublil & Schonberg classical theatrical masterpiece, ‘Les Miserables’. This critically acclaimed revival comes to Austin, TX right around the start of summer as it closes the Texas Performing Arts’ 2011-2012 Broadway season.
‘Les Mis’ has been loved and revered by fans and critics since its premiere in the late ‘80s. With this revival’s revamped scenery largely inspired by the works of famed visual and literary artist Victor Hugo, while reliving its classic tunes such as ‘I Dreamed a Dream’, ‘On My Own’, ‘Stars’ and many more, this “dynamically re-imagined hit” (Star-Ledger) surpasses critical expectations and continues to uplift audiences with its message of positivity and by showing just how resilient the human spirit is, through its poignant songs and well-thought and well-imagined storytelling, told through meaningful words and vivid imagery.
‘Les Miserables’ comes to the Bass Concert Hall at the Texas Performing Arts from May 29 to June 3, 2012. Show times are at 8 PM from Tuesday to Saturday, and at 7 PM on Sunday. Matinee performances are at 2 PM on Saturday and 1 PM on Sunday. The performance running time is 2 hours 50 minutes with 1 intermission.
