Schenectady will once again experience Broadway’s finest theatrical masterpiece in spring 2013. The Boublil and Schonberg classic ‘Les Miserables’ comes to the land of the Mohawk River and the pine plains for a week-long run at the Proctor’s Theatre Mainstage from April 30 to May 5, 2013.
Closing Schenectady’s 2012-2013 Broadway season is this new version of the legendary ‘Les Miserables’. For more than 25 years, this musical has undergone countless changes and improvements to keep up with the times, but this revival is the most impactful, most resonating and the one with widest appeal as of yet. Underscoring one of Broadway’s greatest stories – a story of redemption, sacrifice and unconditional love – are the more powerful orchestrations and the vivid and rousing set designs, sceneries filled with moving paintings of Victor Hugo and replacing the trademark revolving stage, amplifying the musical’s emotional depth and intensifying its substance, turning it into a musical that is continuously relevant, poignant and inspirational.
‘Les Miserables’ will play the Proctor’s Theatre Mainstage at 8 PM from April 30 to May 4 with matinee performances at 2 PM on May 2nd, 4th and 5th. The performance running time is 2 hours 50 minutes with 1 intermission.
