War Horse Austin | Bass Concert Hall

War Horse Austin | Bass Concert Hall

Austin, watch out for war horses as they gallop toward the Bass Concert Hall in the spring of 2014. War Horse, the much applauded and highly acclaimed stage production based on Michael Morpurgo’s popular novel, has a six-day engagement in Austin on May 6, 2014 to May 11, 2014.

The story of War Horse, told from a horse’s point of view and set in Europe during World War I, is the story of Joey, an army horse, and of Albert, the young boy who previously owned Joey, that dramatically exemplifies the real meaning of friendship, faithfulness, and courage. The life-sized horse puppets of the South African Handspring Puppet Company bring the horse characters to life onstage. With a stirring musical score and magnificent stagecraft, War Horse is indeed a must-see!

The War Horse shows in Austin are scheduled at 8:00 PM on May 6 to 9 (Tuesday to Friday), at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM on May 10 (Saturday), and at 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM on May 11 (Sunday).
